CCR Industry leader in the retrieval and disposal of spent energy saving lamps

CCR as operator of OLAV, Germany's largest take-back system for lamps, achieved a take-back volume of around 21 million spent lamps for mandatory disposal in the year 2008. Birgit Siegemund, responsible for the OLAV sector at CCR, sees this as a further step on the way to environmentally-friendly collecting and recycling of energy-saving lamps and other gas discharge lamps. Energy-saving lamps and gas discharge lamps are made amongst other things of glass, metal and tiny amounts of mercury.
