"Netzwerke, so genannte Cluster, sind die bestmögliche Organisationsform für die Zusammenarbeit von Wissenschaft und Wirtschaft", so die Sächsische Staatsministerin für Wissenschaft und Kunst, Dr. Eva-Maria Stange, zum morgigen Start des Innovationsclusters "nano for production" des Fraunhofer Instituts für Werkstoff- und Strahltechnik IWS Dresden. "Es sind die Cluster, in denen außeruniversitäre Forschungseinrichtungen, Hochschulen und Wirtschaftsunternehmen auf innovativen Feldern von der Grundlagenforschung bis zur Anwendung regional zusammenarbeiten." Mit der Eröffnung des Innovationsclusters des Fraunhofer Instituts bekomme Dresden als Standort der Nanotechnologie einen kräftigen Schub.

Das Nanotechnologie-Cluster ist das zweite Cluster der Fraunhofer Gesellschaft in Sachsen.
