Sicherheit und Bequemlichkeit sind bei der Computernutzung oft Gegensätze. Wer zum Beispiel den beliebten Internet-Browsern Google Chrome oder Firefox die Verwaltung seiner Passwörter überlässt, geht ein großes Risiko ein. Bei beiden Programmen können die gespeicherten Zugangsdaten in Sekundenschnelle von jedem ausgelesen werden, der Zugang zum Rechner hat.

Während Firefox immerhin noch die Möglichkeit bietet, die Daten durch ein Master-Passwort zu schützen, präsentiert Google Chrome alle Zugangsdaten völlig offen. Ein kurzer unbewachter Moment reicht aus, um komplette Identitäten zu stehlen. Im Gegensatz zu "normalen" Bürodiebstählen, von denen es 2012 immerhin rund 145.000 gab, bleibt der Identitätsklau in den meisten Fällen auch vevw dxwofanjo.
