In Deutschland ist Blu-ray Disc Nummer 1.000.000 verkauft. Ende Oktober wurde die magische Million-Grenze an abgesetzten Blu-ray Discs überschritten - innerhalb von nur zehn Monaten seit Jahresbeginn. Dank Blockbustern wie "Sex and the City" und Steven Spielbergs "Indiana Jones und das Königreich des Kristallschädels" stieg der Abverkauf allein in Kalenderwoche 43 um 130 Prozent gegenüber den Vorwochen. Auch aktuelle Neuerscheinungen, wie "Hancock" kurbeln den Abverkauf kräftig an.

Und die Blu-ray Fan-Gemeinde dürfte in der Vorweihnachtszeit weiter stetig anwachsen. Denn allein im Monat November erscheinen in Deutschland 85 neue Filme und Dokumentationen, im Dezember werden 66 weitere Titel folgen.
