Mit der Veröffentlichung der Minus-Compilation EXPANSION|contraction (m58) auf der hauchdünnen USBCard (2mm) von Freecom wird die wachsende Bedeutung von Flashspeichern als "physische Tonträger" deutlich. Die rasant gestiegenen Kapazitäten und der Preisverfall bei Datenträgern ermöglichen allmählich, was noch vor 12 Monaten aufgrund der hohen Materialkosten undenkbar gewesen wäre: Der USB Stick im Kreditkartenformat wird zum lizensierten Tonträger.

Auf der USBCard befinden sich alle Tracks im originären WAV- sowie im MP3-Format.
