Der End-to-End IT-Dienstleister Steria bietet ab sofort zusammen mit Sun Microsystems Mainframe-Rehosting-Programme zur Sun Solaris Technologie an. Das Mainframe-Rehosting-Programm gilt vorerst für die GCOS-Plattform, dem ehemaligen Mainframe von Bull, und wird dann auf weitere Mainframes wie von IBM ausgeweitet. Steria hat über 8.500 Mitarbeiter weltweit und zählt mit einem Umsatz von 1,018 Milliarden Euro 2002 zu den Top-10-IT-Service Unternehmen in Europa. Steria kann so sein Angebotsportfolio ergänzen und seinen Kunden als Systemintegrator die Portierung von GCOS7-Systemen anbieten. Das Unternehmen bringt dabei sein umfangreiches GCOS-Know-how in die Partnerschaft ein. Sun Microsystems liefert die Mainframe-Rehosting-Middleware, Mainframe-Rehosting Toolkit sowie Solaris und UltraSPARC.
