Zum 1. Juni 2009 wurde Jens Fankhänel zum Managing Director der Swisslog Warehouse & Distribution Solutions (WDS) für die Region EU1 berufen. Jens Fankhänel folgt auf Francis Meier, der zeitgleich die Leitung des neu geschaffenen Technology Centers bei Swisslog übernommen hat. Das Technology Center ist direkt der Division Warehouse & Distribution Solutions angeschlossen. Meiers neuer Aufgabenbereich dort umfasst die Bereitstellung von Produkten und Lösungen für die gesamte WDS Division.

Jens Fankhänel stieg im September 2008 bei Swisslog ein und war bis zu seiner Ernennung zum Managing Director als Leiter im Bereich Corporate Development tätig.
