In den letzten Tagen kursierten Meldungen der Verbraucherzentrale Nordrhein-Westfalen zum Thema HD+ in diversen Foren und Pressemeldungen. Die darin enthaltenen Informationen vermittelten den Eindruck, dass bereits auf dem Markt erhältliche HDTV-Empfangsgeräte grundsätzlich keine HD+ Programme empfangen können. Dies ist eine Fehlinformation.

Das neue HDTV-Angebot HD+ wird im Spätherbst starten. HD+ wird sicherstellen, dass zeitnah zum Start der neuen Programme eine größere Stückzahl an sogenannten Legacy- Empfangsmodulen verfügbar ist. Damit ist sichergestellt, dass die HD+ Programme RTL, Sat.1, ProSieben, VOX und kabel eins über normale CI-Steckplätze empfangbar sind.
