Umweltfreundliche Desinfektion mittels Diamantelektroden

Start zweier Forschungsprojekte der TU München

Viele Industriezweige haben das gleiche Problem: Konventionelle Desinfektionsmethoden sind für ihre Zwecke nicht optimal. Eine ökologische Lösung bieten Diamantelektroden, mit deren Hilfe man Ozon zur Entkeimung nutzen könnte - per "in situ-Ozonierung". Chemiker, Verfahrenstechniker, Mikrobiologen und Wasseringenieure der TUM bündeln nun ihre Kräfte, um die Potenziale dieser Technologie zu heben: In zwei durch Regierungsgelder finanzierten Verbundprojekten untersuchen sie nun einerseits, unter welchen Umständen das Verfahren Brauchwasser wieder aufbereiten kann und andererseits, wie mit dem Einsatz von Diamantelektroden verkeimte Produktionsanlagen desinfiziert werden können.

Der Bedarf an effizienten und sicheren Desinfektionsmethoden für Betriebs-, Kühl- und Abwässer der Industrie wächst.
