Hot Swap-Controller von Texas Instruments bieten flexiblen Schutz gegen hohen Einschaltstrom für Spannungen von drei bis 20 Volt

Texas Instruments hat auf der Applied Power Electronics Conference (APEC 2009) drei neue Hot-Swap-Controller vorgestellt, die Stromversorgungsschienen zwischen drei und 20 Volt und mit einem Betriebsstrom von bis zu 5A gegen Überstrom schützt. Die neuen Bausteine reduzieren den Platzbedarf und die Komplexität von Designs und können in den unterschiedlichsten Anwendungen eingesetzt werden. Der TPS2420 ist in einem winzigen 16-Pin QFN-Gehäuse (Quad Flat No-Leads) untergebracht, während der TPS2421-1 und der TPS2421-2 in einem 8-Pin SOIC-Gehäuse (Small Outline Integrated Circuit) angeboten werden. Alle drei Modelle bieten mindestens den doppelten Stromdurchsatz im Vergleich zu bestehenden Hot-Swap-Controller mit integriertem FET im gleichen Spannungsbereich.
