Die Wickeder Westfalenstahl GmbH mit Sitz in Wickede (Ruhr) bei Dortmund hat den Anteil der ThyssenKrupp Steel AG von 25,1 % am Kapital der Gesellschaft zurückgekauft. Die Übertragung erfolgte mit wirtschaftlicher Wirkung vom 31. Dezember 2005.

Wickeder Westfalenstahl ist ein mittelständischer Kaltwalzer, dessen Programm auf Kaltband, plattierte Werkstoffe und Komponenten für Röhren-Bildschirme konzentriert ist. ThyssenKrupp Steel hat sich von der Minderheitsbeteiligung getrennt, weil sie keine Kernaktivität im Portfolio darstellt.

Die in vielen Jahren bewährte geschäftliche Partnerschaft durch Vormateriallieferungen und intensiven Austausch von Know-how in einem anspruchsvollen Marktsegment wird in vollem Umfang fortgesetzt.
