Die TX Logistik AG verdichtet ihren Fahrplan zwischen Deutschland und Italien. Das zur Mercitalia-Gruppe (Gruppo FS Italiane) gehörende Eisenbahnlogistikunternehmen erhöht zum 6. September die Zahl der Umläufe auf der Verbindung Duisburg – Segrate von fünf auf sechs pro Woche. Grund für den Ausbau ist die gestiegene Nachfrage nach Transporten von Sattelaufliegern.

Seitdem der Ausbau der Gotthard-Achse abgeschlossen ist, können moderne Trailer mit einer Eckhöhe von vier Metern (Profil P400) ohne Einschränkungen auf der Schiene durch die Schweiz transportiert werden. Das hat der Nachfrage auf dieser Strecke zusätzlichen Schub verliehen.
