Heute ist der Web-Auftritt des Umweltbundesamtes DIE Fundgrube für Umweltinformationen - dem entsprechend oft werden unsere Pages aufgerufen und abgefragt! Alle Seiten wurden überarbeitet, aktualisiert und zielgruppengerecht aufbereitet und umgestellt. Bereits im März 1996 ging die erste Homepage des Umweltbundesamtes online. In dieser innovativen ersten Variante waren bereits 1.200 Textdokumente und 600 Grafiken verfügbar, heute sind es mehr als doppelt so viele.

Einige technische Details zu den Umweltbundesamt-Pages: Für die Erstellung und Wartung seines Web-Auftrittes verwendet das Umweltbundesamt das Open Source Content Management System Typo3 (CMS - also ein System zum Aufbau und Betrieb von Web-Sites wie Internet/Intranet-Portale, Online-Systeme qkz).
