Oldenburg. "Versailles als ostmitteleuropäischer Erinnerungsort" - mit diesem Vortrag beschließt der Lüneburger Historiker Dr. Andreas Lawaty am Dienstag, 27. Januar 2009, 18.00 Uhr im Bibliothekssaal der Universität Oldenburg, die zweisemestrige Ringvorlesung "Zwischen Jubiläum und Erinnerungspolitik - vom Sinn und Ziel von Jahrestagen". Veranstalter sind die Abteilung für Osteuropäische Geschichte der Universität und das Bundesinstitut für Kultur und Geschichte der Deutschen im östlichen Europa (BKGE).

Lawaty, der das Nordost-Institut/Institut für Kultur und Geschichte der Deutschen in Nordosteuropa (IKGN) in Lüneburg leitet, hat sich in zahlreichen Publikationen mit Fragen der Kultur-, Geistes-, Historiographie- und Literaturgeschichte auseinandergesetzt.
