Auf dem Campus der Universität Stuttgart in Vaihingen wird - nachdem am 25. Mai der Wissenschaftsrat das Projekt der Bund-Länder-Kommission zur Aufnahme in die Förderung empfohlen hat - voraussichtlich noch in diesem Jahr ein besonderes Bauprojekt starten: das Raumfahrtzentrum Baden-Württemberg. Gemeinsam mit dem Bund und zahlreichen Partnern will die Universität Stuttgart hier ein landesweites Raumfahrtforum für Wissenschaft, Industrie und Öffentlichkeit schaffen. Damit soll der Technologietransfer und Gedankenaustausch zwischen den beteiligten Institutionen gefördert werden. Der Neubau wird unter anderem das Uni-Institut für Raumfahrtsysteme mit dem Stuttgarter Kleinsatellitenprogramm und das ebenfalls an der Universität angesiedelte Deutsche SOFIA-Institut mit der fliegenden Sternwarte SOFIA (Bntozptndskmw Elbdekipdmdjg uyv Xquvifsi-Jbpfnxebhy) spztmslvven.
