Adaptives Immunsystem: synthetische Substanz zur Aktivierung entwickelt

Wissenschaftler:innen des von der Deutschen Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) am Universitätsklinikum Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE) eingerichteten Sonderforschungsbereichs 1328 „Adenine Nucleotides in Immunity and Infection“ ist die Synthese und Validierung von MASTER-NAADP, einer die Zellmembran-durchdringenden Vorstufe für den intrazellulären Botenstoff NAADP, gelungen. Mit dieser Substanz lassen sich extrem schnelle Prozesse der Aktivierung von T-Lymphozyten, einer sehr wichtigen Klasse weißer Blutzellen, untersuchen. Die daraus gewonnenen Erkenntnisse sollen in Zukunft helfen, die Aktivität der T-Lymphozyten bei Entzündungsprozessen zu regulieren. Neben T-Lymphozyten konnten auch weitere Zelltypen des Immunsystems, aber auch Nervenzellen durch MASTER-NAADP aktiviert werden. Das Projekt wurde von Prof. Dr. Andreas Guse (UKE) und Prof. Dr. Chris
