Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today announced the release of three new single-line ESD protection diodes in the tiny plastic SOD923 package for portable electronics and other space-sensitive applications.

The VESD03A1C-02Z, VESD05A1C-02Z, and VESD12A1C-02Z are designed to provide ESD protection in space-limited applications like portable electronics, including portable gaming devices, MP3-players, and cell phones.

With a compact 0.6-mm by 1.0-mm footprint and an extremely low profile of 0.4mm, the devices can be placed very close to the interface connector or right in front of the ESD-sensitve IC-ports for optimized ESD protection.
