In a move to minimize the impact of fluorescent lamps (CFLs) and other disturbance signals on IR remote control systems, Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today announced the release of five new series of high-sensitivity IR receivers. As AGC3 devices, the receivers are optimized for noisy environments and short burst codes.

One of the leading sources of environmental optical noise is compact fluorescent lamps, which emit noise signals that resemble IR remote control signals, severely impacting the performance of IR systems.
