Im Rahmen der Handwerksinitiative NRW war 2011 das Portal für Handwerksdesign in NRW www.design-handwerk-nrw.de durch den Westdeutschen Handwerkskammertag entwickelt worden und dann Anfang 2012 durch den damaligen Wirtschaftsminister Harry K. Voigtsberger der Presse präsentiert worden.
