Der TinyPilot wird direkt an den zu steuernden Computer angeschlossen und leitet Tastatur- und Mausbefehle sowie das Video-Signal über das Netzwerk an den Browser des Benutzer weiter. So kann man den Computer oder Server remote bedienen, als säße man direkt davor, was besonders nützlich für die Administration von Servern, das Troubleshooting oder die Fernwartung ist.

Der TinyPilot ist ein kleines, portables Gerät, das als KVM-Over-IP (Keyboard, Video, Mouse over IP) fungiert. Es ermöglicht den Fernzugriff und die Steuerung eines Computers oder Servers über das Netzwerk, ähnlich wie ein physischer KVM-Switch, jedoch in einem sehr kompakten und kostengünstigen Format.

Der TinyPilot ist besonders bei IT-Administratoren und Technikern beliebt, die mehrere Systeme verwalten und gelegentlich physischen Zugriff benötigen, aber den Aufwand für Reisen oder den Einsatz von teuren, traditionellen KVM-Switches vermeiden wollen.
