1cc Consultant Nadiia Kaiun presents on June 1, 2017: "Update on Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA) in USA"

Chemspec Europe, Munich, 31 May - 1 June 2017

(PresseBox) (Holzgerlingen, )
The landscape of chemical legislation worldwide is constantly changing. USA was one of the first countries to make the most important step towards the formulation of national chemicals policy last year.

On June 22, 2016 President Barack Obama signed into law the Frank R. Lautenberg Chemical Safety for the 21st Century Act, introducing important changes to the existing Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA), also known as TSCA Modernization Act.

Taking into account that TSCA Modernization Act was enforced on the day of its signature, EU exporters and producers of chemicals need to be prepared to take respective action in order to ensure compliance of their products with new requirements. While in Europe one of the central questions focuses on preparation with respect to the last REACH registration deadline in 2018, activities on notification, update of data, etc. might be required from suppliers of certain chemicals to USA.

The presentation will provide an overview of the key elements of TSCA Modernization Act along with actions required from companies exporting chemicals to the USA. Furthermore, the presentation will give an update on the activities of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) since adoption of the TSCA Modernization Act along with upcoming deadlines and give recommendations on efficient organization of compliance when supplying products to USA.

The presentation will take place from 15.00 to 15.30 in the Regulatory Services Zone.
