3U TELECOM GmbH, a subsidiary of 3U HOLDING AG (ISIN DE0005167902), has now received renewed ISO 27001 certification for its information security management system (ISMS) at its data centres in Berlin and Hanover. The ISMS describes the procedures and rules within an organization that are used to permanently define, manage, control, maintain and continuously improve information security. For the renewal of the certificate of the internationally leading standard for information security, TÜV NORD CERT GmbH carried out a three-and-a-half-day re-audit as an external independent testing authority.
3U TELECOM is not obliged to be certified, but in doing so it fulfils its own requirement for the highest level of information security for customer data and customer systems. The recognized seal of quality serves as proof to customers and partners that information security is practiced on a daily basis – participation in the demanding audit also raises the security awareness of employees. In addition to the management, information, information security and data protection officers, several other employees were involved in the successful fulfilment of the audit's high testing requirements.
“Our ISMS is constantly checked and further developed to ensure that it is up to date and effective,” explains Uwe Knoke, the Managing Director of 3U TELECOM GmbH. “The highest level of data and information security is our top priority at all times. This is what our customers expect, but it is also our own standard. Our customers can rely on the fact that we see the topic of information security as a constantly evolving process and regularly make sure that also the measures taken are up-to-date and effective.”
