Based on an extensive target-group analysis, Olympus developed a concept for the websites to present the complex medical products and microscopy systems in an attractive and informative manner. Acando implemented the administration of about 300 products for each website including their interconnected dependencies in FirstSpirit. Product and component selectors help visitors to choose their solutions, and a watch list automatically saves the devices already viewed. “People who use our websites can quickly and intuitively find products and events relevant for them. The websites are now primarily geared to their needs” says Oliver Lorentzen, project manager at Olympus, about their successful go-live.
To streamline the processes for the editors of the 20 country versions, Acando provided country-specific and central content pools and implemented a workflow to release and publish completed translations. For project control, they used a proven agile method. “For each Sprint Review, it was possible to present a new and more complete version of the website to the management at Olympus. This way, we could quickly respond to change requests and easily keep the date set for the go-live,” explains project manager Klaas Klaassen, Acando GmbH, the benefits of the procedure.
Acando equipped all Olympus websites with the enterprise search from FirstSpirit to lead visitors quickly and directly to the content they find interesting.
