Mit der Innovation im Infotainment-Bereich geht die BMW Group auf veränderte Kundenbedürfnisse ein. Bereits heute sind für viele Autofahrer die Konnektivität und insbesondere die Integration von personalisierten Daten in die Umgebung ihres Fahrzeugs sogar wichtiger als die Motorleistung. Dies bestätigte eine repräsentative Umfrage des Branchenverbands Bitkom1).
Acando arbeitet daher gemeinsam mit der BMW Group an einer Anwendung, mit der das Multimedia-System direkt auf Funktionen und Daten von Smartphones zugreifen kann. Die Daten werden über das Zentraldisplay dargestellt und sind mit der Fahrzeug-Peripherie zu bedienen. So können z.B. Facebook oder Twitter direkt im Auto verwendet werden. Das Acando-Team unterstützt die BMW Group insbesondere bei der Entwicklung des Development Kits (SDK) sowie bei der Wartung des Frameworks und einiger bereits vorhandener Apps.
