The sales outlets for Wenco are nearly all in large grocers. Field service employees visit the trading partners regularly to take inventory and add to stock. To ensure processes run swiftly and smoothly, the field service uses mobile end devices. Acando has developed a new Android-based app for the field service with new functions like a central signature. The app also has new functions for all regional and sales outlet managers. They can use a directly integrated business intelligence system to access current earnings figures and display seasonal items to their trading partners on the go, place orders, and even plan the store area and shelve systems - all from their mobile device.
Ralf Eschbach, IT Manager at Wenco: “Together with Acando we reached an important goal and mapped all the processes for our field service and partner support, making it completely digital and mobile. Our business is now fast and sustainable. The system developed by Acando is easy for employees to operate and inspires confidence with its high-performance and reliable integration into our back-end systems.”
For the migration from Blackberry to Android, Acando redesigned the application to meet current standards in technology and usability. So users can easily operate it on a tablet that is connected by Bluetooth with peripheral devices like the bar code scanner. To implement mobile processes and integrate Wenco back-end, Acando used its own mobile middleware Solid Mobile. It ensures required data is transferred securely with encryption and is available offline on the end device.
“With our middleware software Solid Mobile, we can easily mobilize entire business processes flexibly and securely. This technology makes it possible to carry out automatic bi-directional synchronization of data, securely transmit data with encryption, connect modularly to all popular data sources, and smoothly integrate with back-end systems. Our solution, which is based on the latest technological standards, will ensure that our customer Wenco gets a head start and is prepared for the future,” remarked Peter Ostrop, Member of Management at Acando GmbH.
