Windows Real-time virtualization with On Time RTOS-32.

On Time RTOS-32, one of the fastest embedded real-time operating system for x86 processors, can now be executed together with Windows on one single PC system.

(PresseBox) (Weingarten, )
Acontis technologies, real-time virtualization partner of KUKA Roboter, now presents a new member of the RTOSWin product family.

With AT-RTOS32Win this product family is now extended to support On Time RTOS-32: AT-RTOS32Win acts as the run-time environment for Windows XP to run On Time RTOS-32.

The embedded On Time RTOS-32 real-time operating system is especially optimized for x86 processors and therefore has an extremely small footprint and excellent real-time behavior.

With AT-RTOS32Win from acontis it is now possible to run both operating systems, On Time RTOS-32 and Windows XP, on one single-core or multi-core PC system.

Similar to all other members of the RTOSWin product family (VxWin, CeWin, QWin) AT-RTOS32Win is based on the KUKA RTOS Virtual Machine.

Compared with similar solutions on the market, the RTOSWin product family supports all currently available CPUs from both Intel and also AMD.

Both, Intel-VT and AMD-V processors are as well supported as processors without this hardware virtualization technology.

On Time Informatik, manufacturer of On Time RTOS-32, will provide the new RTVmf-32 component which supports this new runtime environment.

Thus, with AT-RTOS32Win from acontis technologies and at least the components RTTarget-32, RTKernel-32, RTIP-32 and RTVmf-32 from On Time Informatik it will be easily possible to run Windows XP and On Time RTOS-32 on single-core or multi-core PC systems.

KUKA Roboter together with acontis technologies provide Windows real-time virtualization solutions with a successful history of more than 12 years.

In the past, VxWorks and Windows CE were supported as real-time operating systems for this product family.

With the RTOS Virtual Machine, a new generation of this virtualization technology is now available which opens this technology for other real-time operating systems as well.

KUKA Roboter itself will use this technology for its new generation of robot control systems.
