The ultra mobile Tablet-PC is designed for applications where high CPU performance, light weight and easy handling is needed, like home delivery services, mobile POS, mobile terminals in the Logistics or applications in the Health Care market.
The Motion LS800 Tablet-PC weighs 2.2 lbs. only (incl. battery) and it has the very handy measures of (WxLxH) 8.94” x 6.69” x 0.87” (227 mm x 170 mm x 22 mm). The weight of the Tablet-PC is well balanced so the user can work with it for hours without operator fatigue. The housing of the LS800 is made of high quality carbon fibre reinforced plastic and light metal Magnesium die cast. The surface of the housing is coated with a special material which is scratch-resistant so the Tablet-PC keeps its luxury look and feel all over its lifetime. The finish and manufacture of the LS800 is unrivalled like all products from Motion Computing.
In the base configuration the LS800 comes with an Intel Pentium M ULV Processor 753 with 1.20GHz clock rate. Other features are 512MB of RAM, expandable to 1GB, a 30GB 1.8“ IDE HDD, upgradeable to 60GB, a Digitizer Pen, OS Windows XP Tablet Edition and a 8.4“ SVGA colour TFT display with a viewing angle of 170° to all sides. Optional the LS800 is also available with a sunlight readable display. The Motion View Anywhere Technology enables the user to read the display clearly even in bright sun. The operation of the LS800 Tablet-PCs is pen based on the Digitizer Pen. Actually the operation of the LS800 is very easy. The Motion Computing dashboard allows the user to set the brightness for the display, volume of the built-in sound-system, turn on and off the Bluetooth and WLAN and calibration of the pen. The dashboard can be opened and closed by just pushing a button in the front bezel of the LS800 Tablet-PC. For scrolling and navigation in documents the LS800 has a navigation button with five positions for the user log-on there is a SAS log-on button. For user applications there is an ESC button in the front bezel in addition to two free programmable function keys. The user can log-on by entering a password or by scanning a finger because the LS800 Tablet-PC has a built-in fingerprint scanner.
The LS800 offers all ports of a State of the Art Tablet-PC. For wireless communication the LS800 Tablet-PC has a WLAN 802.11 a/b/g, Bluetooth 2.0 and IrDA. Additional ports are 1x 10/100/1000Mbit LAN with RJ45 connector, 1x microphone-in jack, 1x speaker-out jack, 2x USB 2.0 ports, 1x external VGA port, 1x docking connector, 1x DC power-in and 1x SD Card slot.
