The first Arvato Systems Cloud Challenge was a complete success: a drone crash course followed by a competition, many discussions about cloud jobs at Arvato Systems, a lot of professional exchange, and a good atmosphere. “Designing digitization means recruiting the best IT specialists with valuable cloud expertise for our company”, says Ralf Schürmann, Managing Director of Arvato Systems S4M GmbH. “With this extraordinary event, Arvato Systems was able to authentically present itself as an exciting employer in the context of digital transformation.”
In times of a shortage of skilled workers, the search for the best applicants is a creative challenge for companies. As a result, the Arvato Systems team has been working on new recruiting measures. “We wanted a format that suits us as a ‘Multi Cloud Service Provider’, but is also unusual. This is how the idea for the Cloud Challenge came about”, explains Arvato Systems personnel manager Siegfried Bloch. Divided into teams, the applicants flew remote-controlled drones through a course, gathered information, and solved tasks. This interactive atmosphere served as an excellent basis for many interesting discussions between participants and employees from very different Arvato Systems divisions. “In a somewhat relaxed atmosphere, applicants were able to get to know the company as an attractive employer and us as a team”, explains Kerstin Rehpöhler, Employer Branding and Recruiting Manager and responsible for the Cloud Challenge. “That worked out great. We are very satisfied!”
