In his speech, President Hering thanked the businessmen and women for their dedication and said: “The companies we are honoring today for their strong commitment are responsible for securing the future of Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania as a center of business. Your company’s model training programs offer young people a chance to successfully start their careers. Thank you very much what you have done!”
In the opening speech at the event, Andreas Sandberg, regional manager at arvato Systems in Rostock, had the opportunity to describe the training programs from the company’s point of view, while encouraging all the companies present to continue investing in training programs in the future.
Creative ideas and high-quality training programs were decisive factors for the five-member jury that consisted of representatives from the honorary office of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Rostock, the school administration, and one trainee. Over the past year, companies named ‘Top Training Company 2011’ have given trainees individual attention and encouragement, allowed their employees to work as instructors, for example, in honorary roles on various boards of examiners, and provided career guidance programs for students. The title allows the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Rostock to acknowledge the training services these companies offer and, at the same time, encourages other companies to provide challenging training positions for young people.
