- German Energy Agency presents label in recognition of innovation
(arvato Systems) Gütersloh // Berlin, Germany – The German Energy Agency, dena for short, annually awards the ‘Best Practice in Energy Efficiency’ label to exemplary projects involving buildings, facilities, or energy management. arvato Systems is receiving the label for successfully implemented energy efficiency projects in the data center field.
In 2013, the arvato Systems ‘Consistent Reduction in Power Consumption at a Data Center’ project aimed at reducing power consumption in the company’s large-scale data center in Gütersloh by more than 1 million KWh. The three areas of climate control, power supply, and data center infrastructure were optimized to achieve this target. Implementation of the measures carried out during ongoing operations with standardized and easy to implement components and machines. The initial aim of reducing consumption by more than 1 million KWh was far exceeded. In 2013 it was possible to cut use by more than 1.5 million KWh.
dena is awarding arvato Systems for the successfully implemented project with the coveted ‘Best Practice in Energy Efficiency’ label.
“We’re delighted to receive this award from dena and recognition for our energy efficiency projects that we implement in our data centers,” says Jesko Jacobs, Senior Manager Data Center & Infrastructure Production at arvato Systems. “We will continue to focus on energy efficiency and hope that our projects will provide other companies with useful pointers for launching their own projects.”
