- arvato Systems presents farmpilot.connect, parallel process chains, and a connection with Reichardt's RTK Clue system
- farmpilot helps with efficient organization of agricultural works and vehicles
Plan. Organize. Analyze. With this slogan, arvato Systems present an enhanced version of farmpilot at their stand in Hall 17.
This time, the central theme is collaboration, which becomes more and more important in organizing agricultural works.
The farmpilot team aims at facilitating collaboration in any conceivable form and the new farmpilot functions are serving exactly this purpose.
farmpilot.connect offers integrated IT support for farmers who look for a simple way to issue work orders to their contractors.
A farmer can manage field data within farmpilot for free. He then selects a subset of these fields and forwards them to a contractor with a separate farmpilot account. Based on the received data, the contractor can plan the farmer’s work orders and send them to his machines.
Verbal coordination or cumbersome transport of field data – e.g. via USB stick – is no longer required. Misunderstandings and technical problems are avoided.
The parallel process chain is a novel form of collaboration supported by farmpilot. In this context, several machines are working simultaneously on a common work order pool, e.g. spreading fertilizer on a few hundred fields. Every driver sees online which fields still have to be processed. The driver simply chooses the next free field for himself. Subsequently, this decision becomes visible to the other drivers who each one chooses their next field on their own. This way, the entire group achieves completely autonomous self-organization.
As of now, farmpilot customers can benefit from a cooperation between farmpilot and the RTK Clue system by Reichardt Steuerungstechnik.
In this context, farmpilot stores the link between a field and an RTK base station. As this allows to automatically choose the same RTK base station with each of several subsequent passes on a field, track guidance with reliably repeatable precision becomes possible.
Inversely, farmpilot receives accurate RTK position data from RTK Clue. This can be very helpful, e.g. with tracking very slow machines like cucumber harvesters.
