- Having an efficient collaboration between business partners in logistics value networks is becoming more important
- Other current logistics developments such as the EU electronic freight transport information regulation (eFTI) or robotics solutions in the warehouse are also on the agenda
“There is still a high demand among our clients for solutions in the area of process optimization with SAP EWM and SAP TM,” says Christoph Tieben, Director Digital Supply Chain at Arvato Systems. “In addition, we are finding that collaboration between different business partners in logistics value networks is becoming more and more important. Solutions such as the SAP Business Network for Logistics as well as sharing digital freight documents enable us to help our clients further develop their supply chain management and provide the basis for cross-company collaboration.”
Speaking about platbricks®, Arvato Systems’ cloud logistics platform, Bernd Jaschinski-Schürmann, Head of Digital Supply Chain Management and Platform Business, adds: “In terms of warehouse robotics, we are strategically positioning ourselves as an implementation partner for suppliers of automated transport systems such as AGVs or AMRs. We offer the relevant planning, execution, and user interfaces, for example for goods-to-person processing, based on our warehouse management system (WMS). In terms of platform business, we are continuing to develop platbricks® with regard to urban delivery and last-mile logistics, as well as microhub management, and plan to launch the second phase for the digital delivery receipt.” platbricks® has been drastically expanded in recent years, and now includes more than 250 features and functions, including the advanced warehouse management system, container management, yard management, and supplier management via subcontracting.
Other innovations that Arvato Systems will present at LogiMAT 2023 will include efficient solutions for logistics processes based on SAP BTP (SAP Business Technology Platform). These range from a mobile app – for example to support assembly on the shop floor – to a cross-system document flow monitor. In the area of urban logistics and last-mile delivery, Arvato Systems will also present solutions that can be used to make logistics processes in cities more environmentally and climate friendly in the form of smart applications for route optimization and delivery concepts with (partially) autonomous deliveries.
