Das BAS wird alle technischen Informationen verwalten, die Bentley seinen 155 Händlern weltweit zur Verfügung stellt. Dazu gehören unter anderem Schulungs- und Serviceinformationen.
Nachdem Bentley zehn Monate lang zwölf verschiedene Component Content Management Systeme bewertet hatte, entschied man sich für die e:CLS. Grund dafür war die einzigartige Funktionalität des Systems, die eine sehr kurze Implementierungszeit ermöglicht. Dadurch zahlt sich Investition für Bentley schneller aus.
Mike Morris, Bentleys Head of After Sales, erklärt: „Wir haben uns für e:CLS entschieden, weil sie sich perfekt in unsere bestehende IT-Landschaft integriert. Dies ermöglicht uns, das System schon sehr bald einsetzen zu können. Da immer mehr unserer Inhalte auf XML basieren, bietet uns e:CLS gleichzeitig die Möglichkeit, das System in den nächsten Jahren um weitere Content-Pakete und auf zusätzliche Abteilungen innerhalb von Bentley auszuweiten.“
arvato services, ein Schwesterunternehmen von empolis, ist dafür verantwortlich, dass das BAS-System bei Bentley implementiert und in das bestehende Kundendienstsystem der VW-Gruppe integriert wird.
