The bending angle for the printing plates is defined by the manufacturer of the printing machines. The angle, the bender provides the printing plate with, was determined by its tools up to now. The logical consequence: If, for example, after the purchase of a new printing machine, a new bending angle was required, one had to buy an additional bender or retrofit the existing bender with high effort. This is not very efficient, does not save resources, and does not fit in BEIL’s strategy of sustainability. It is no wonder that the company from the asparagus region south of the old imperial town Regensburg did not rest until they found the solution for this problem:
At the Multiformat-Hybrid Bender, the bending angle is adjusted via program-controlled motors and can be changed within a large range via intuitively-operated software – even for double bendings. The operator must not have knowledge in programming – via a touch-screen, he simply selects the printing machine of which he wishes to bend the printing plates. Should the parameters of a printing machine not have been saved as a default in the device, BEIL Registersysteme GmbH can provide a software update.
The Multiformat-Hybrid Bender masters different bending radii through single, easily interchangeable elements. On top of that, printing plates of all kinds of different formats can be processed.
Thanks to its rollers, this device is mobile and its height-adjustable machine supports enable to position it so-to-speak stationary on basically any ground. A camera system and a 17 inch TFT screen support the operator during the precise adjustment of the printing plates. During bending, vacuum fixes the printing plate on the table of the Multiformat-Hybrid Bender. The electrical system can be operated both with 110 V AC, 60 Hz as well as with 230 V AC, 50 Hz. To be able to operate the vacuum system, the device requires a connection to a 6 bar standard compressed air network.
The low-maintenance Multiformat-Hybrid Bender is structured with the well-known BEIL quality and bears the CE stamp. A sensor-monitored safe guard and a sophisticated control system ensure safe work even at fast-paced times. A transparent, blue, toned protective cap protects the bender’s mechanical components.
