PCI Express (Peripheral Component Interconnect Express), officially abbreviated as PCIe (or PCIe, as it is commonly called), is a computer expansion card standard designed to replace the older PCI standards. The berofix PCIe allows the hardware compatibility to current computer systems which provide only the recent PCI express standard.
berofix is a modular system which combines a base board and several interface modules. The base board is able to carry up to 2 modules. The base board is available with different channel densities (16 to 128 channels), as PCI, and as PCI Express (PCIe). The channel density depends on the used codecs and planned combination of line-interfaces.
The berofix PCIe which allows a flexible usage through its modular concept like its predecessor product, the berofix PCI.
The berofix card series is a powerful and flexible hardware solution to connect ISDN (BRI, PRI) and GSM lines to any SIP based VoIP system. The berofix is not a Gateway and it is also not a standard PCI/PCI-Express card where proprietary drivers have to be installed. It could also referred to as Gateway-Card. Due to the special design of the hardware, berofix will be detected as a standard PCI card by the operating system.
Usually the driver for this network card will be loaded automatically by the operating system. Therefore berofix can be used in almost every operating system.
The berofix PCIe card is a success promising concept: Modularity and Compatibility in its latest technology.
