BioM has proven its outstanding quality during the assessment for the "Cluster Management Excellence Label GOLD - Proven for Cluster Excellence" of the European Cluster Excellence Initiative. Through its highly professional management, BioM provides important added value to the Munich biotechnology cluster, and promotes its further targeted development to an internationally visible leading-edge cluster.
"We are extremely pleased to receive this recognition, which confirms our work and commitment," says Dr. Stephanie Wehnelt, manager responsible for the Gold Label process at BioM. "For us, however, being amongst Europe's top cluster organizations also means continuing to improve and expand our activities and performance. Only in this way we can optimally leverage the innovation potential provided by the local biotech network of industry and science."
The ECEI GOLD Label "Excel in Cluster Excellence" is an independent certification and is awarded to cluster management organizations that demonstrate high-quality and sophisticated cluster management. As part of the evaluation process, BioM had to demonstrate its competencies on the basis of 31 specific assessment criteria. These included, amongst others, the structure, governance, funding, strategy and services of the cluster, as well as recognition provided by the involved parties. The label is valid for two years and can then be renewed after a review of selected criteria.
The "Cluster Organization Management Excellence Label GOLD - Proven for Cluster Excellence" is awarded by the ECEI. It was developed on the initiative of the European Commission with the aim of creating an independent, voluntary testing procedure for the quality of cluster management that is valid throughout Europe.
