Dabei sind die männlichen Senioren den flachen, tragbaren Geräten gegenüber deutlich aufgeschlossener als die weiblichen: Während nur 7 Prozent der Frauen ab 65 angaben, ein Tablet zu verwenden, waren es mit 13 Prozent fast doppelt so viele Männer.
Am häufigsten nutzen Senioren ihr Tablet, um im Internet zu surfen (84 Prozent), private Fotos oder Videos anzuschauen (77 Prozent) oder um E-Mails zu lesen und zu schreiben (76 Prozent). Etwa die Hälfte der älteren Nutzer nimmt auch selbst Fotos und Videos mit dem Tablet auf oder benutzt Navigations- und Kartendienste auf dem mobilen Computer (je 51 Prozent). Zu den beliebtesten Anwendungen auf dem Tablet gehören außerdem das Online-Shopping und das Lesen von Zeitungen oder Zeitschriften (je 45 Prozent).
Hinweis zur Methodik: Die Angaben basieren auf einer repräsentativen Umfrage, die Bitkom Research in Zusammenarbeit mit Forsa durchgeführt hat. Dabei wurden im November 2014 1000 Personen ab 65 Jahren befragt.
