BITKOM-Präsident Prof. Dieter Kempf sagte dazu:
"Der Schutz persönlicher Daten im Internet ist eine Kernaufgabe von Politik und Wirtschaft. Vor diesem Hintergrund spricht sich BITKOM weiterhin mit Nachdruck für die Errichtung der ,Stiftung Datenschutz' aus. Sie kann den Informationsstand der Verbraucher bei diesem wichtigen Thema weiter fördern und soll für Transparenz sorgen. Sie kann Vorschläge für ein modernes Datenschutzrecht machen sowie einheitliche Kriterien für einen freiwilligen Datenschutz-Check für Angebote aus der Wirtschaft entwickeln. Damit können Unternehmen ausgewiesen werden, die den Kunden einen besonders guten Datenschutz bieten.
Die ,Stiftung Datenschutz' war lange politisch blockiert, nun scheint es endlich weiter zu gehen. Seitens der Wirtschaft werden wir die Entwicklung der Stiftung konstruktiv begleiten und unterstützen."
