Auch die Gesamtbilanz für 2009 zeigt zweistellige Zuwächse. Demnach haben die Deutschen im vergangenen Jahr Downloads im Wert von 249 Millionen Euro gekauft. Das sind 19 Prozent mehr als 2008. Die Zahl der Downloads stieg um 29 Prozent auf 62 Millionen.
"Künftig kommen vermehrt mobile Geräte für Downloads zum Einsatz", erklärt Berg. Handys und Smartphones mit UMTS-Standard empfangen in vielen Regionen schon Daten mit DSL-Geschwindigkeit. In diesem Jahr startet der UMTS-Nachfolger LTE, der um ein Vielfaches höhere Geschwindigkeiten ermöglicht. Die nötigen Frequenzen wurden in der vergangenen Woche für 4,4 Milliarden Euro vom Bund versteigert. Damit können die mobilen Breitbandnetze weiter ausgebaut werden. Nach Einschätzung des BITKOM werden auch neue Smartphones, E-Book-Reader und Tablet-PCs den Markt für mobile Downloads antreiben. Berg: "Die neuen mobilen Geräte sind sofort nach dem Einschalten verfügbar und haben große, gut lesbare Bildschirme. Sie sind damit ideal für Downloads nicht nur von Musik, sondern auch von Texten und Filmen."
