- BITKOM ist Schirmherr des Server Based Award CeBIT 2008
- Fachhändler, Reseller und Systemhäuser können sich bewerben
Auf der CeBIT wird unter Schirmherrschaft des BITKOM der Server Based Award CeBIT 2008 verliehen. Systemhäuser, Fachhändler und Reseller können sich mit erfolgreichen Projekten solcher serverbasierter IT-Lösungen bis zum 18. Februar 2008 bewerben. Beim Konzept des Service Based Computing beziehen die einzelnen Arbeitsplätze innerhalb eines Netzwerks ihre Daten und Anwendungen von zentralen Rechnern, den Servern. Seit Jahren wächst die Server-Based-Computing-Branche. Die Marktforscher von IDC erwarten, dass bis 2010 der Umsatz weltweit jährlich um rund 20 Prozent steigt. Von dieser Entwicklung profitieren nicht nur die Hersteller und Softwareanbieter, sondern auch Systemhäuser, Reseller und IT-Consultants. Denn sie verkaufen und implementieren die sehr beratungsintensiven und komplexen Produkte und Projekte.
Eine Jury bewertet die eingereichten Projekte anhand eines herstellerneutralen Kriterienkatalogs. Kriterien sind u.a.: Wie groß waren die finanziellen Einsparungen bei den Kunden und welche Zeitersparnis konnte bei den Mitarbeitern und beim IT-Management erreicht werden? Auch die Art und Weise der Umsetzung, z.B. der Arbeitsaufwand und die Einbindung der Mitarbeiter, werden berücksichtigt. Die Preis-Kategorien richten sich nach der Größe der Unternehmen, in denen die Projekte verwirklicht wurden. Eine Sonderkategorie gibt es für Lösungen in öffentlichen Einrichtungen und Non-Profit-Organisationen.
