CAD (Computer Aided Design) covers an unchallenged position in almost all industrial sectors like automotive or ship building industry, in the architectural area, machinery or chip industry. One can hardly find an industrial area where designing, developing and manufacturing is not based on computer support. The advantages of this technology are highly visible. Not only it helps to realize technical solutions faster and more precisely but also helps to realize developments faster. Thus CAD is an approved tool to safe also engineering costs. Changes in the manufacturing processes can be implemented in a much shorter time on the Internet (Cloud) and this way - at the same time - avoid very costly non operation periods.
The 3D technology contributes considerably to the success story of CAD applications. It has enabled users to visualize computer generated technical solutions and to interact e.g. for testing or sharing final results with engineers via internet. The state of the art 3D technology also allows CAD applications for realistic and high quality imaging as well as to master the continuous growing demand for rendering power.
One of the leading provider of integrated 3D software development components for engineering and manufacturing applications across a broad range of industries, is Broomfield Colorado based Spatial Corp. USA, a subsidiary of Dassault Systemes. Spatial's application development platform helps application developers deliver market leading products in shorter time-to-market. The 3D components from Spatial have been adopted by some of the world's most recognized software developers, manufacturers, research institutes and universities. In the area of 3D development Spatial cooperates with Bitmanagement Software GmbH, Germany, as technical partner, worldwide providing interactive, real time 3D visualization on the internet. BS Contact is the core product of Bitmanagement and provides a powerful 3D Viewer, which customers and interested application developers have the opportunity to test this software before implementing in their application.
For that purpose Bitmanagement has developed a simple procedure which leads at the end to a licensing agreement for BS Contact. A customer or an application developer can download this viewer for testing purposes on his PC, which then is available without any technical limits. As soon as the user proofs the software as appropriate for his application, he can acquire a license. Until then the water mark (showing the Bitmanagement logo) on his screen indicates him to be still in a testing mode.
Upon licensing Bitmanagement will create a license key for the respective domain or URL to be copied on the respective web server. The 3D content created is provided over the Inter- or Intranet to website visitors. One or an unlimited number of users can use the content with the interactive 2D/3D client BS Contact distributed to the users PC. BS Contact can be downloaded or installs automatically by clicking on the content. The Inter- or Intranet address is licensed and enables the visualization of content offered from this web address ( e.g. http://web3d.spatial.com/ ). The water mark (the Bitmanagement logo) of the test version of BS Contact will be disabled by the license key tied to a domain, directory or URL.
