Recent years have underscored the necessity for continuous organizational adaptation to meet shifting market demands and evolving customer needs. With this in mind, Bizerba has made the decision to introduce a comprehensive Business Unit structure, geared towards customer-centric and solution-oriented business models, commencing April 1, 2024. This strategic transformation forms part of a broader initiative aimed at driving organizational agility and responsiveness in the face of dynamic market conditions.
Seamless Integration from Market to Customer
"Our customers have always been at the center of our actions, and we aim to ensure that our organizational structures better reflect this in the future," explains Andreas W. Kraut, CEO of Bizerba. He continues, "By introducing a unified Business Unit structure, we strengthen our focus on customer needs and can respond more efficiently to market challenges. We are confident that this organizational change will enable us to better understand our customers and offer tailored solutions."
The Business Units operate as independent entities within Bizerba, covering all aspects from market introduction to customer service. Integrated within them are product management, a customer solution center, research and development, as well as the entire sales and after-sales area. In addition to these functions, there are global production areas as well as so-called "Shared Service Centers," which function as central service areas. This structure ensures efficient company-wide coordination and management, fosters close exchange between the Business Units, and prevents isolated work practices. At the same time, it leverages synergies and enables efficient collaboration across all levels of the organization.
Business Units for Retail, Industry, and Labels & Consumables
The Retail Business Unit comprises retail scales, slicing and packaging machines, AI-based checkout systems, and retail software. The Industry Business Unit offers a wide range of inspection systems, packaging and labeling systems, logistics systems, industrial scales and specialized industry software. Completing the trio, the Labels & Consumables Business Unit offers a portfolio of labels and tailor-made clean and care products for various applications.
The Business Units are led by newly appointed Managing Directors: Ante Todoric takes over the leadership of the Retail Business Unit, Fred Köhler will lead the Industry Business Unit, and Tom van Elsacker will be responsible for the Labels & Consumables Business Unit. All three report directly to CEO Andreas W. Kraut.
