Last week the new General Manager Plant Dispatch and Vehicle Distribution of the BMW Group, Peter Hörndlein, personally got an idea of the important distribution logistics site for the BMW Group for the first time. Mathias Wellbrock’s successor along with Dr. Ulrich Wieland, Vice President Vehicle Distribution and Vehicle Distribution Center as well as Sandra Reichenauer, Vehicle Distribution Railway Europe and Northern Ports, visited the BLG Auto Terminal Bremerhaven.
BLG Board Member Michael Blach, Marketing and Sales Manager Wolfgang Stöver and Key Account Manager Stefan Nousch received the guests at the seaport terminal. During a tour around the 240-hectare grounds the visitors were shown the import and export processes, rail unloading, one of the technical automobile centers as well as the new parking deck and inspected a car carrier docked at the quay. On behalf of LOGWIN, port provider for BMW, the branch manager for Bremerhaven, Sönke Steffen, accompanied the group.

In the AUTOMOBILE Division BLG performs services for new and used vehicles, such as truck transport, cargo handling at inland and seaport terminals and distribution. In the CONTRACT Division the logistics provider provides support at BMW’s Wackersdorf and Leipzig sites and takes care of material supply there for the foreign production plants and parts of the plant logistics.
