Natürlich haben enviva Wasserspender ihren Preis. Anhand einer kleinen Beispielrechnung wird das Einsparpotenzial durch leitungsgebundene Trinkwasserspender jedoch schnell deutlich: Für ein Büro mit 25 festen Mitarbeitern, von denen jeder im Durchschnitt eine Flasche Wasser pro Tag trinkt, ergibt sich ein Jahreswasserverbrauch von rund 5.500 Litern. Bei einem Mineralwasserpreis von 35 Cent pro Liter inklusive Logistik ergeben sich in einem Jahr Kosten in Höhe von etwa 2.000 Euro. Leitungswasser kostet rund 0,3 Cent pro Liter. 5.500 Liter kosten hier also lediglich 16,50 Euro. Gemäß dieser Rechnung hat sich die Anschaffung eines Trinkwasserspenders schon nach einem Jahr amortisiert.
