In the Magic Quadrant for Asia Pacific Network Service Providers report, Gartner said: "In our evaluation, we give high marks to providers that exceed competitors on the following issues based on results from our recent enduser carrier survey, feedback from client inquiries, and information from the carriers:
- Service quality, based on high network reliability and performance, good service and support, and strong servicelevel commitments.
- Local service and support in developing and remote markets - in particular, China and India - to improve installation and restoration times.
- Competitive pricing, due to the renewed emphasis on cost controls after the recent global financial crisis."
Gartner also said: "Leading players in Asia have good network infrastructure, with a broad suite of managed and IT services capabilities, the result of investing ahead of the market in new or unproven areas."
In the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Communications Outsourcing and Professional Services (COPS), North America, Gartner vice president of research and report author Eric Goodness said: "The current market for COPS opportunities based on recently closed deals, and ongoing deals in the proposal stage, shows that enduser organizations want a single provider approach in terms of establishing a prime relationship."
Speaking on BT's recognition in these reports, Michael Boustridge, president, BT Global Services Multinational Corporations said: "This is very good news for BT's global customers who are expanding their operations into Asia Pacific as we believe it clearly indicates BT's current, strong abilities in the region. In the North American market, we're proud of our placement as a challenger, as we believe it acknowledges the progress we've made in the region, where we have won significant new business in recent years. We're committed to proving BT's expertise as a single 'manager of managers' to new and existing customers, handling their critical networked IT services so they can focus on their core capabilities."
Boustridge continued, "Talking with our customers about their Asia Pacific expansion plans, BT has recently announced its own initiatives to increase investment in new services across the region through additional portfolio and resource capability, and plans are currently underway to hire additional staff. Enhancing our professional services, industry sector and innovation resources will form a key part of our customer support plans."
BT's Asia Pacific expansion is being aligned closely alongside the growth plans of its multinational customers as they continue to expand across Asia Pacific region. BT is well positioned in Asia to assist global corporations to expand across Asia while also providing support to Asianbased companies poised to extend their reach globally. In the critical North America market, BT has had a continuous presence for more than 25 years, and focuses on serving the networked IT services needs of multinational corporations headquartered in the region or having significant North American operations.
