Trotzdem ist davon auszugehen, dass der steigende Ölpreis die Konjunkturrisiken erhöht.
Die Bundesregierung geht (wie auch der Sachverständigenrat) in ihrer aktuellen Prognose für 2008 von einem Jahresdurchschnittpreis in Höhe von 80 US-Dollar aus und erwartet ein Wachstum des Bruttoinlandsprodukts von 2,0 %.
Der Preisanstieg hat sowohl spekulative als auch realwirtschaftliche Hintergründe. Die steigende Nachfrage besonders in Asien ist ein wesentlicher Grund für die Volatilität und den steigenden Trend des Ölpreises."
