With international cooperation partners and several thousand test devices in use worldwide, CETA Testsysteme GmbH presents itself as a competent solution partner for industrial leak and flow testing.
Accredited calibration laboratory
The calibration laboratory was recognized in 2004 by the German Calibration Service (DKD) and in 2014 by the German Accreditation Body (DAkkS) - as the successor to the DKD - as a DAkkS-accredited calibration laboratory (D-K-19566). DAkkS-accredited calibration (compliant with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025) meets the requirements of the IATF 16949 standard applicable in the automotive industry, among others. A DAkkS-accredited calibration certificate is internationally recognized in accordance with the ILAC-MRA agreement.
The CETA calibration laboratory has been accredited for the measurand pressure since 2004. This scope has now been extended to include the measurand flow rate of gases.
Accredited scope
Accredited calibrations are carried out in negative and positive gauge pressure from -1 bar to 60 bar, in absolute pressure up to 40 bar and for volume flow rates in flowing gases from 0.1 ml/min to 420 l/min.
The CETA calibration laboratory is the only accredited laboratory in Germany in the range of gas leak rates from 5*10-3 mbar*l/s to 1*10-6 mbar*l/s - apart from the national German metrology institute (PTB = Physikalisch Technische Bundesanstalt). And in the helium leak rate range from 1*10-6 to 1*10-9 mbar l/s, there are only two other accredited laboratories apart from CETA and the PTB.
CETA offers calibrations and recalibrations with DAkkS-accredited calibration certificates in the permanent laboratory and on site at the customer's site (depending on the accredited scope).
Behind the scenes of an accredited calibration laboratory
The financial investment for the technical equipment of an accredited calibration laboratory, the effort required for its operation and the continuance of accreditation are significant: in addition to regular audits, recertifications and participation in interlaboratory comparisons, the reference standards are subject to particularly strict monitoring. The methods used for calibration are validated. The calibration procedure developed by CETA for measuring volume flow in flowing gases has been approved by the DAkkS. For the measurand pressure, methods in accordance with DKD-R 6-1 are used. DIN EN ISO 20486 is used for the measurands leak rate in gases and helium leak rate. The CETA calibration laboratory has more than 15 reference standards for the measurands pressure and flow rate in gases, more than 30 working standards and more than 15 auxiliary standards for measuring absolute pressure, temperature and humidity. All standards are traceably calibrated at regular intervals with an accredited calibration certificate.
The demand for calibrations and recalibrations is high. The CETA calibration laboratory has issued more than 2000 calibration certificates in 2023.
CETA test devices with DAkkS-accredited calibration as standard
CETA Testsysteme GmbH is the first German manufacturer of leak testers to deliver its test devices with DKD- or DAkkS-accredited calibration certificates as standard since 2004. From mid-2024, all leak, mass flow and flow testers, pressure manometers and calibration standards will now also be supplied with a DAkkS-accredited and internationally recognized calibration certificate (compliant with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025) as standard and at no extra charge upon initial delivery.
External calibration services for pressure and flow in gases
The CETA calibration laboratory is accredited for the calibration of pressure, flow rate in gases, gas leak rate and helium leak rate.
The scope also covers the typical leak rates of calibration standards used, for example, in e-mobility, aerospace, hydrogen technology or in critical applications in the medical sector. The high-quality and internationally recognized calibration is offered for CETA products and also as an external service for test devices and products from other manufacturers.
