Coherent, Inc. (COHR.PK) präsentiert ein neues Lasermessgerät, welches den direkten Zugriff auf das Ausgangssignal eines jeden Laser-Energiesensors der EnergyMax-Serie ermöglicht. Konkret handelt es sich beim J-Power um ein kompaktes Zubehörteil, welches den aktiven Sensor im EnergyMax mit Strom versorgt und das unbehandelte Signal der Ausgangsspannung direkt an einen BNC-Anschluss schickt. Dies ermöglicht es dem Nutzer, die Eigenschaften des Sensors wie z.B. seine hohe Linearität, den internen Verstärker mit geringem Rauschen oder die eingebaute Temperaturkompensation voll auszunutzen – und das ganze bei gleichzeitig sehr kompakter Anordnung. Für ein Maximum an Benutzerfreundlichkeit kann der J-Power entweder mit Netzteil oder wiederaufladbaren Batterien betrieben werden.

Laboranwendern ermöglicht das J-Power, ein EnergyMax Sensorsignal auf einem Oszilloskop darzustellen, ohne dass ein Anzeigegerät benötigt wird. Dies erlaubt es dem Anwender, direkte Messungen der Pulsenergie vorzunehmen, sogar bei sehr hohen Wiederholfrequenzen. OEM-Anwender können mit Hilfe des J-Powers ihre eigene Analog-zu-Digital-Wandlerschaltung einsetzen und somit das Geld und den Platz für separate Anzeigeelektronik sparen.
