DocBridge FileCab is a new input channel for the product DocBridge Pilot, which has been successful for many years. This is database-supported, platform independent software which can be used to create tailor-made mail pieces for each output type. Data streams can be sorted and grouped, the delivery can be optimized for the carrier and inserts can be added dynamically. DocBridge Pilot also supports the electronic payment of postal charges (IT franking)). Through the use of DocBridge FileCab, companies will now be able to also save their office documents in the same mailing pool so that they can be further processed centrally.
The principle: Once the document has been produced at their PC workstation, the employee sends the document to DocBridge FileCab through the printer driver. The software checks the document against defined rules - for example, whether the designated font types have been used in accordance with the corporate design. Addresses are also automatically checked and corrected. Once all criteria have been fulfilled, the document is transferred to the central company electronic mail processing system or is sent for archiving. DocBridge FileCab converts the document into an application-independent format and sends it to DocBridge Pilot, where the documents are optimized as usual, sorted and released via the various channels. This is also where the office documents can be combined with those from other business applications. Decentrally produced documents will then be processed centrally.
Cost-optimized printing and dispatch
In addition to the described process stages, DocBridge FileCab also has other functions. Metadata for further processing can be read and displayed - a crucial requirement for the preparation of control files for complete archiving. It is also possible to pass the document on to an external service provider and to connect other office applications.
The use of DocBridge FileCab offers even more benefits: In addition to the opportunity to use the postal charges usually charged for bulk dispatches, it will result in the improved use of personnel resources. The omission of manual printing, enveloping and stamping in addition to cumbersome “additional tasks” such as loading paper and changing toner will disburden the employee and increase their productivity. Material costs are also reduced. By printing centrally using specially set up bulk printers, the individual printers in the departments are conserved.
A further advantage of DocBridge FileCab is the opportunity to send information for inserts along with the document, which will be kept centrally available in the system. This electronic administration provides additional savings potential.
