Einzigartig und luxuriös – eine neue Generation Notebooks: die Ultrabooks.
Intel läutet mit dem Ultrabook eine neue Generation an besonders leichten, ultradünnen und dennoch leistungsstarken Notebooks ein, welche die Vorteile von Notebooks und Tablet PCs vereinen.
Als erstes sticht einem das besonders dünne Gehäuse ins Auge – gerade einmal 20 mm darf ein Ultrabook an der dicksten Stelle hoch sein. Erste Geräte wurden auf der IFA 2011 vorgestellt – das Lenovo IdeaPad U300s misst an der dicksten Stelle gerade einmal 14,9 mm! Doch nicht nur die geringen Abmessungen zeichnen ein Ultrabook aus – sondern auch ein sehr geringes Gewicht. Das Toshiba Protegé Z830 mit einer Dicke von ca. 15,9 mm wiegt dabei gerade einmal 1,12 kg und erreicht somit spielend Netbook oder Tablet PC Niveau. Neueste Technologien wie Solid-State (SSD) Festplatten, stromsparende Intel® Core™ Prozessoren der zweiten Generation und leistungsfähige Grafiklösungen ermöglichen Akkulaufzeiten von über 8 Stunden bzw. 30 Tage Stand-by Betrieb. Aus dem Sleep-Modus ist ein Ultrabook in ca. 4-6 Sekunden einsatzbereit. Asus hat gleich zwei Modelle vorgestellt das Asus UX21 wartet mit einem Display von 11,6 Zoll und 1,1 Kg auf, der größere Bruder Asus UX31 ist mit einem 13,3 Zoll Display ausgestattet und soll 1,3 kg wiegen. Acer hat die Markteinführung seines Acer Aspire S3 für den September angekündigt. Man darf gespannt sein.
